Meet Dr. Patrick Sofer, DMD

Dr. Patrick Sofer was born in Chicago and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois. He attended Aurora
University, where he played NCAA hockey and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Health Science, along with minors in Chemistry, Physiology, and Psychology. During his time at Aurora, he balanced rigorous academics with athletics, developing a strong work ethic and discipline that would carry into his dental career.

Dr. Sofer went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry, where he earned multiple academic and clinical awards. Upon graduation, he was honored with induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) dental honor society.

Driven by a strong passion for endodontics, Dr. Sofer continued his training at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, where he completed his residency, earning a Specialty Certificate in Endo dontics and a Masters in Oral Biology. His research on laser applications in endodontics earned a top resident research award at the American Association of Endodontists annual meeting and was later published in Clinical Oral Investigations.

Dr. Sofer is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys traveling, playing hockey, and spending time with family and friends.
